Shipping, Returns, Discounts, International Orders
There is a lag time between your order label creation and when your tracking gets entered into USPS. Please know that your package is somewhere en route to you. We cannot determine when USPS enters your item into their system, and we also cannot tell you where your package is until is shows up in tracking. Rest assured that your package is coming to you, but sometimes you will have to wait on USPS to scan it into their system. We have no control of this.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING for is no problem! You will need to contact me with a screen shot of what you would like to purchase with your address, so that I can give you an exact shipping amount prior to purchase. You will have a separate shipping payment that you will be able to add to your cart after a shipping quote is given.
International shipping ships first class (depending upon weight) in 3-5 business days. You can certainly have this expedited, but you will need to contact us first, and be invoiced separately. The cost will depend upon your order.
$5 ECONOMY SHIPPING is a non-refundable flat-rate shipping fee per order, multiple orders might be combined into one shipment at our discretion depending on shipment schedule, but you will never be refunded for shipping when shipping is combined. This shipping option generally uses USPS Parcel Select Ground or sometimes Priority (whichever option is the most economical for us) depending on package weight and shipping address. This shipping option typically does not ship until 5 business days after purchases, but sometimes will ship sooner. On very busy website sales, it might take a little longer to ship than the 5 business days.
Priority Shipping will ship USPS Priority or on the next business day. If you purchase on Friday, your item will not ship until Monday.
If you make multiple orders within a 24-hour time span and choose Priority Shipping for each order, these orders will be combined into one shipment where possible, and you will be refunded any extra shipping costs. This does not apply to Economy Shipping. If you make multiple orders and choose Economy Shipping for one order and choose Priority for another order, these orders will not be combined and will ship separately per chosen shipping method.
Customized orders can take up to 14 business days to ship. Please ask ahead of time for an estimated time range.
If you would like to know the status of your order or have questions concerning a prior or existing order, the fastest response will be through email Caroline@paintedoyster.com or paintedoyster@yahoo.com. We will usually respond within 24 hours. We are not always able to check social media messages. Social media is not the most expedient way to reach us with order questions.
We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages, if you fear your package is lost or stolen, you will need to report it to your mail carrier and fill out an affidavit. Economy shipping includes the base insurance amounts offered by the chosen mail carrier. Contact us before checkout if you would like to add more shipping insurance to your order.
All shipping labels are automated. This means if you entered in an incorrect address at time of purchase, your shipping label will be printed exactly as you typed it. Please make sure your shipping address is correct. We are not responsible for incorrect addresses.
COMBINING MULTIPLE INTERNATIONAL ORDERS—We can certainly hold off on shipping internationally to combine as many of your orders over a time span determined by the buyer to allow the buyer to maximize shipping savings. If, however, the buyer’s order(s) are shipped and the buyer fails to pay his/her country’s customs duties/taxes resulting in the order being sent back to us, the buyer has three days (72 hours) upon delivery to remit a second payment for shipping plus a $50 fee for the package to be mailed again. If payment is not made in full by the deadline, then the buyer forfeits his/her purchase. When combining international orders, the buyer also forfeits being able to return any item as they will be passed the returnable time period upon shipment.
RETURNS:
Returns accepted on applicable items within 7 business days of delivery. This means you must ship your package within 7 business days from when it was delivered to you. The delivery date does not count as a business day. The business day following your delivery date is the start date for a return. This applies to the processing time on our end for all exchanges and refunds.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL on Sample Sale purchases AND any piece of clothing that was $29 or under with or without a discount and any piece that has “final sale” in the description. This rule is absolutely firm, and will never change under any circumstances, no exchanges, no store credit. The reason is because we are already selling these items at a great loss for us, but it’s a great opportunity for you to get great deals, and we love doing this for you. But, that means we can’t afford to take the time/energy/shipping/restocking to do returns on these items. Final means final, no exceptions. Thanks for understanding. This rule does not include accessories under $29 unless otherwise specified.
All return rules apply to website and Facebook Live purchases.
Cancelled orders are not accepted. Your order will ship, and you are always welcome to return any returnable items.

Your return instructions will be emailed within one business day.
Please DO NOT message through Facebook or Instagram concerning returns. This ensures we can keep track of your return. No returns will ever be processed through social media.
Please DO NOT mail back to us before getting return instructions. All packages received this way will be refused and returned to you unopened. You must email us, get your instructions, then mail.
If you received return instructions and do not ship back by the 7-day-delivery-date deadline, then your package will be refused and returned to you unopened.
Buyer will be refunded minus credit card fees where applicable and shipping costs (even for free or discounted shipping).
Buyer pays return shipping.
Returns are typically processed within 3 business days of delivery but can sometimes take longer especially if Caroline is out of town. She will always let you know if there might be a delay in processing.
Any piece that is customized or altered at or after purchase cannot be returned.
If you want to exchange a recent purchase for a different piece, we will not hold it while you ship your return. You may ship your return back within the 7 business day time frame, and, as soon it arrives, we will pull your requested exchange from our inventory.
IN VERY RARE CIRCUMSTANCES, Caroline will institute a restocking fee. This will always be made known to the purchaser before his/her next order (as in, “We see you’ve been unhappy with the majority of your orders, should you need to return a future purchase, there will be a restocking fee from now on.”). This is on a case-by-case basis and is only used when a purchaser habitually returns items to the point that is too time-consuming for Caroline. The fee and application of this measure is on a case-by-case basis. Again, this is a vary rare/practically never thing, but we have to put it in our policies even if it happens once. The purchaser will always be notified ahead of time prior to the next purchase.
We want everyone to be happy with their purchase, so if alterations or adjustments need to be made, just ask us prior to returning! We painstakingly measure every piece, so please refer to these measurements in the item description before purchasing.
DISCOUNTS, SMS MARKETING AND PRIVACY
Promo codes do not apply to Live show purchases unless otherwise stated.
All phone numbers and emails are used only for weekly promotional marketing as it pertains to Painted Oyster. We never give or sell your contact info. SMS marketing is to notify you of Live Shopping Shows and any deals that may pertain to those shows. We will never call you, we will never text you with bills or invoices.
When you give us your email for promo codes, we will never sell or share your email. We only email every week at the most when there is new inventory and/or promo codes.
We will not apply discounts retroactively, no ifs, ands or buts. Discounts are awesome, but it is your responsibility to sign up for the email, open the emails and apply the codes. We will never do this for you. We will never apply a discount after a purchase if you forgot to apply the code. Please do not ask us, we will not change our minds. Discount codes are valuable, and we don’t think applying discount codes retroactively for a select few is fair to those who sign up for the emails, open the emails and appropriately apply the discount codes at checkout.
If you are trying to use a promo code that isn’t working, you are welcome to email us to ask why, but we will not apply promo codes after a purchase is made.
